Three former Dortmunders have played a decisive role in the championship title of FC Liverpool. Sadio Mané creates an Internet hit with a celebration video.

Borussia Dortmund also has a big part in the longed-for championship title of FC Liverpool.

Of course, coach Jürgen Klopp, who himself worked for BVB from 2008 to 2015, is one of the club’s protagonists and is representative of the club’s magnificent development in recent years.

However, two other ex-Dortmunders have also unexpectedly risen to become the Reds’ mastermind.

In the match between Chelsea FC and Manchester City (2-1), which made Liverpool champions in the first place, Ilkay Gündogan (with BVB from 2011 to 2016) was not consistent enough in his approach to the ball after a clarified city corner.

This mistake allowed Christian Pulisic (2016 to 2019 at BVB) to capture the ball on the centre line and finish the counterattack with a remarkable 1-0 goal for Chelsea (36th).

BVB congratulates Klopp and Pulisic
The BVB also reacted promptly, posted a picture of Klopp and Pulisic from their Dortmund days together and wrote: “Where it all began”.

It is not known how the championship celebration of the Liverpool players turned out – but Klopp explained that many of his stars watched the game together in a hotel.

Mané creates an Internet hit
As a representative of the celebrations, Sadio Mané posted a funny video on Instagram from the Norwegian pay TV channel TV 2 Sporten, which became a hit in social media. Klopp drinks from a drink marked “One more win”, and numerous faces of the Liverpool stars cut into the video start dancing wildly afterwards.
