Liverpool FC are in gala form against Crystal Palace and are closer than ever to the championship. At United, Martial succeeds in a rare feat.
Liverpool FC are closer than ever to winning the championship after a gala performance in the Premier League this season.
Coach Jürgen Klopp’s side gave Crystal Palace no chance in a commanding 4-0 (2-0) home win and will now be able to clinch their first championship in 30 years in a direct clash with defending champions Manchester City next week.
“That was a reaction. I really liked it. I loved our game,” said a satisfied Sky Sports man. He didn’t want to name any of the four goals as personal favourites either. “They were all very good.”
Klopp satisfied: “Taking things into my own hands”
His boys would have earned this sense of achievement. “The boys are in good shape and in good spirits. We showed our fans that we’re still here. We don’t want to wait for something to happen, we want to take things into our own hands,” he said.
However, if City don’t win against Chelsea FC on Thursday, the Reds would have the title in their hands even before the game.
“I don’t even know if I’ll be watching. The last time I watched them they won 3-0 against Arsenal,” Klopp said with a wink.
Against Palace, the performance of the undisputed frontrunner was definitely masterful once again. Trent Alexander-Arnold took the lead with an enchanting free-kick over the wall in the 23rd minute of the game. Even before half-time, Mohamed Salah raised the score 2-0 (44th) after a soulful pass from Fabinho.
