In the match against Real Madrid, Mallorca’s Luka Romero will be the first time a 15-year-old has played in the Spanish league. Real takes the lead thanks to Sergio Ramos.

Real Madrid have returned to the top of La Liga.

They celebrated a convincing 2-0 (1-0) win against relegation candidate RCD Mallorca in their home game and are now level on points with their big rivals FC Barcelona in the top spot of the table. Mallorca are relegated to 18th place, but have made history against Real.

In the final phase, Luka Romero, the youngest player in La Liga history, made his debut for Mallorca.

The top talent is only 15 years and 219 days old and replaced Francisco Bao Rodriguez, who was 15 years and 255 days old when he made his debut for Celta Vigo on 31 December 1939.

Romero: “Unforgettable moment”
“It was an unforgettable moment,” Romero wrote on Twitter, “I will never forget that day.” His coach Vicente Moreno praised him: “We’ve seen how he’s developed since he was 12 years old. But we didn’t want to build him up too quickly because he needs to be taken care of. He’s a great player and I think he will give us a lot in the future.”
