Thomas Meunier apparently rejects a short-term contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain. The background to this is his imminent move to BVB.

With Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Meunier has reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

However, when the premier league continues from 12 August, the right-back will probably not play for PSG.

According to RMC Sport, the Belgian refused a short-term extension of his contract, which expires on 30 June. The background to this is his imminent move to Borussia Dortmund.

Meunier agrees with Borussia Dortmund

According to information, the replacement-free Paris Defender and BVB have agreed on a summer change. The 28-year-old Belgian, who has been playing for the top French club since 2016, will be given a four-year contract with the Dortmund team.

Meunier will do the same as Timo Werner. The transfer of the national player from RB Leipzig to Chelsea FC for 53 million euros recently made the headlines because Werner no longer wanted to play for Leipzig in the final round of the Champions League at his own request. The goal scorer wants to concentrate fully on his new commitment to the blues.

Like Meunier, PSG striker Edinson Cavani, whose contract also expires this summer, is said to have decided against a short-term extension.
