Tuttosport is once again looking for the best young player in Europe. The Bundesliga is prominently represented, BVB has more irons in the fire than FC Bayern.

Who will follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi, Mario Götze, Renato Sanches or Joao Félix?

Since 2003, the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport has presented the Golden Boy Award for the best U21 player from Europe’s top leagues.

Now the list of the 100 candidates for 2020 has been published – and various Bundesliga players are on the list.

BVB Quartet and Bavaria’s Davies nominated
From FC Bayern, high-flyers Alphonso Davies and Leon Dajaku, who moved from VfB Stuttgart to Munich in the summer of 2019 and will mainly be playing in the second team, have their chances.

BVB is represented even more frequently. With Erling Haaland, Giovanni Reyna, Jadon Sancho and Sergio Gómez (on loan to SD Huesca) a quartet has made it among the nominees.

After all, two players from Schalke 04 also belong to the illustrious circle. Juan Miranda and Ozan Kabak represent the Royal Blue.

The most prominent names outside the Bundesliga among the top 100 are certainly Eduardo Camavinga (Stade Rennes), Sergino Dest (Ajax Amsterdam), Ansu Fati (FC Barcelona), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Callum Hudson-Odoi (FC Chelsea), Gabriel Martinelli (FC Arsenal), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Ferrán Torres (FC Valencia) as well as Reals Vinicius Jr.

Last year Joao Félix received the coveted trophy. Rafael van der Vaart received the award at the 2003 premiere.
