Only a few days before the resumption of play in England, tests have revealed further corona cases. Norwich City is also affected.

Just a few days before the comeback of the Premier League, the latest series of tests has produced two positive results.

The league confirmed this in an official statement on Saturday. 1200 players and staff had been tested for the corona virus on Thursday, the two positive cases had occurred at two different clubs.

Relegation candidate Norwich City confirmed in the evening that they have one of the two players in their ranks. The name of the affected professional was not disclosed. The Premier League wants to resume play after the Corona break on 17 June. A total of 8678 tests have already been carried out, with 16 positive cases reported.

Norwich played test match against Tottenham
The Norwich Kicker is now scheduled for a seven-day individual quarantine, after which it will be tested again.

It is not yet known where the second player will play. Norwich – coached by German Daniel Farke – played a test match against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday. The positively tested Norwich player is said to have been in action but not to have had direct contact with the stars of coach José Mourinho.

English media report that Premier League decision-makers believe the risk of infection is low anyway, as players rarely get close to each other for long enough.
