The ball is still resting in La Liga. In addition to a date for the restart after the Corona break, League boss Javier Tebas also names a date for the start of the season.

The new season in the Spanish La Liga will start on 12 September.

This was confirmed by league boss Javier Tebas in an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper Marca.

In addition, he is sticking to the planned start date for the restart of the season, which is currently suspended: “God willing, we’ll start on 11 June.”

Sevilla Derby to restart after Corona break
Two days ago, Tebas announced that Betis Sevilla and FC Sevilla would play their city derby in the opening game on 11 June. An official announcement about the restart of the league is missing so far, but will follow in the next days. According to Tebas, a team of more than 130 people would be working on a hygiene concept for the resumption of play these days.

Since last week, the teams are allowed to train again in groups of ten. With eleven matchdays to go, FC Barcelona are two points clear of arch-rivals Real Madrid at the top of the standings.
