The Premier League clubs are apparently preparing their staff for a resumption of the season. A TV station might offer a curious sound option.

The English Premier League is preparing for a restart after the break caused by the coronavirus.

As reported by Sportsmail, at least two clubs have told their staff that they should adjust their plans for mid-June.

On 13 June, possibly even a week earlier, the league is to continue. When the teams will start training again is up to them – but probably mid May. According to this, one club is supposed to have planned 8 May as the start of training, another 11 May.

League in France about to break up
At the end of the week, the government is expected to give the clubs the next measures regarding distance regulations, after which the planning of the training could become more concrete. On Friday, a meeting with all 20 clubs is to take place to discuss the new start.

The Premier League is definitely planning to continue the season, and the designated champion FC Liverpool should be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Other leagues, such as the Netherlands and Belgium, had abandoned the season, with France following suit on Tuesday. Whether leaders Paris Saint-Germain will also be declared champions is still open.

The Bundesliga could resume operations in May, well ahead of the Premier League.

English TV station plans curious sound option
Not surprisingly, the Premier League as well as the Bundesliga would start with ghost games. According to the Daily Mail, however, the broadcasting station Sky Sports plans to offer an additional sound option with well-rehearsed viewer reactions. The channel is deliberately not to offer “false fan reactions” and has apparently already been used in the past for so-called “fan zone comments”.

In addition, some clubs should consider recording fan reactions during matches in the stadium.
