Quiet sounds during the corona crisis? Not at all.
While other Bundesliga clubs have to worry about the near future, Hasan Salihamidzic makes an offensive announcement. “We want to strengthen ourselves with a top talent from Europe and also bring an international star to Munich, who will raise the quality of our team and help the team to offer our spectators highly successful and attractive football,” the sports director of FC Bayern Munich told Welt am Sonntag.
The message is clear: the record-breaking champion is willing to upgrade his squad with top-class players – and is prepared to spend a lot of money on this despite the current difficult situation.
It is not yet clear how the Corona crisis will affect prices on the transfer market. However, Salihamidzic will probably not be able to lure his dream players to Säbener Strasse for free.
In particular, the names Kai Havertz and Leroy Sané have fallen more frequently again in the recent past. But expert Marcel Reif sees a need for action not only in the offensive. “We always focus on Sané or Havertz – but they also need a right-back, they need a centre-back when Boateng goes,” he explained.
