Due to the corona break FC Schalke extends the cyber coach for the players. This is mainly to maintain the interaction of the team.
FC Schalke 04 has extended its training during the coronavirus break by a variant.
When the soccer pros do their training sessions in their own four walls, they are now connected by a video call. All team members train at the same time and can see each other.
Wagner: “Enormously important to be able to interact as a team”
“For us as team athletes it is enormously important to be able to interact within the team, even if we are physically separated,” coach David Wagner explains the “cyber training” in a club newsletter.
In this way, “the athletics coach can control the units and intervene in the exercises to optimize them,” says the head coach.
Corona: Schalke shows inventiveness
Because the current regulations for containing the corona pandemic in North Rhine-Westphalia still do not allow training in larger groups, Schalke is inventive.
“Like any employee, we would of course prefer to return to our profession as soon as possible where we practice it: on the grass,” says Wagner. That’s why “all possibilities” are being examined to ensure that the training is implemented in the best possible way, in compliance with all specifications and precautionary measures.
Sané, Miranda and Taitague could train again
During the period of dormant Bundesliga matches, some professionals were able to recover from their injuries in the best possible way.
Salif Sané, Juan Miranda and Nick Taitague would already be able to take part in team training, but that does not currently exist. Schalke expects Daniel Caligiuri to make a full recovery after his torn ligament in his knee during the course of April.Due to the corona break FC Schalke extends the cyber coach for the players.
