On his 27th birthday, World Champion Paul Pogba has launched an appeal for donations for the fight against the coronavirus.
If his campaign reaches 27,000 pounds (approx. 29,700 euros), he will double the amount, the midfielder from the English record champions Manchester United wrote on Facebook.
“Today is my birthday and I am grateful that my family, my friends and I are healthy. However, not everyone is healthy at the moment. In times like these, we have to stick together,” wrote Pogba, who launched the campaign together with the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef).
“If we reach our goal, we will be able to buy 333,332 pairs of disposable gloves for health workers, 2777 masks for the fight against the spread of the virus, or 9615 pairs of protective glasses,” he continued.
