Liverpool FC win the league and FA Cup against Bournemouth after two consecutive defeats in the last two games. The Reds are on course for the championship.

A sigh of relief for Jürgen Klopp: After three bankruptcies in four matches, English Premier League leaders Liverpool FC have returned to the road to success.

The German manager’s side won 2-1 (2-1) against relegation candidates AFC Bournemouth in front of 53,323 spectators at Anfield Road and were not shocked by a 1-0 deficit.

Mo Salah (25th) and Sadio Mane (33rd) provided the decisive goals for the Liverpool side, who are well on their way to claiming their first league title in 30 years. Callum Wilson (9.) had surprisingly put the crass underdog in the lead.

How much Klopp’s victory liberated him could be seen in two scenes. After Mane’s leading goal Klopp cheered with his coaching staff before he turned around and also took a look at the linesman. Klopp almost shouted down the assistant referee and seemed to almost hit him with his usual cheering pose.

After the game Klopp then shouted his joy several times in the direction of the fans. No wonder, the success was the 22nd home victory in a row in the first English league – no club had ever managed that before.

Liverpool now 25 points ahead of Manchester City
With 82 points, the Reds continue to be the sovereign leaders, now 25 points ahead of defending champion Manchester City, who will compete in Sunday’s Manchester Derby at Old Trafford for record champions United.

The Klopp side have recently lost in the Champions League at Atletico Madrid (0-1), in the league at FC Watford (0-3) and during the week in the FA Cup at Chelsea FC (0-2). The only difference between them was a 3-2 draw with West Ham United on 24 February. A maximum of three wins from nine games is still missing from the first championship since 1989/1990, when pursuers Manchester City will not be able to catch up with Jürgen Klopp’s team. Arsenal win – Spurs only draw before Leipzig return
FC Arsenal won the London derby against West Ham United 1-0 (0-0). Rio World Champion Mesut Özil, like goalkeeper Bernd Leno, was in the Gunners’ starting eleven and prepared the winning goal by Alexandre Lacazette per head (78.).

Champions League finalist Tottenham Hotspur scored an away point in the dress rehearsal for the second leg of the round of sixteen in the premier league on Tuesday at RB Leipzig (21.00 – first leg 1-0 for Leipzig). The team of team manager Jose Mourinho played 1-1 (0-1) for FC Burnley on Saturday evening. Chris Wood (13.) got the lead for the underdog. Dalli Alli (50.) secured the Spurs the draw.
