Comment: BVB defence too holey for title

Munich – BVB’s defensive stance is not particularly firm, on the contrary: the error rate is anything but masterful. The SPORT1 commentary.

Finally some good news for the long-suffering BVB fans: Dortmund is not fourth in the league but second before the game against Cologne. The bad news: It’s about the table, which lists individual mistakes before conceding goals.

This faux pas of coach Lucien Favre’s team has already been undermined nine times this season, which is not good at all. Only Freiburg (11) has been more susceptible so far.

In the past three games, Dortmund has had three such blunders: two against Leipzig, one against Augsburg.

And that should be enough for the title? The answer is: No. The worm is in the back, but nobody can find it.

27 goals scored after 18 games is a classic average. And one which – please note – BVB failed to achieve throughout the entire 2011/12 championship season. At that time, 25 goals were conceded between August and May.
